Pre-fill receipt details in your request link

Last reviewed: 2026-09-10

Scope: The URL format a merchant uses to pre-fill the receipt fields on the public request e-invoice form, in both the standard and short route forms, including the workspace setting that enables it and the encoding rules that catch people out.

Update: New guide covering the receipt prefill link format.

Your customers can already scan a QR code or follow a link to request an e-invoice, then type in the receipt number, date and amount themselves. Typing is where it goes wrong: a customer copies half a receipt number, the request does not match any sale, and it comes back rejected.

If your till or point-of-sale system can print a different QR code on every receipt, you can put the receipt details into the link itself. The customer scans, and the receipt section of the form is already filled in. All they add is who they are.

JomeInvoice does not build these links for you. Your own system builds them, using the format on this page.

This is for merchants who can generate a unique QR code or link per receipt, usually through a point-of-sale or receipt-printing system. If you print one fixed QR code for your whole shop, that still works exactly as before. See Share your e-invoice request link and QR code.

First, switch the feature on

This is off until you turn it on, for every workspace. Until then your links still open the form, but nothing is pre-filled.

Go to Settings → Workspace Settings → General, open the Request e-Invoice section, and switch on Receipt Prefill via QR / Link.

Both formats do exactly the same thing. Pick one and use it everywhere.

Standard format:

https://v2.jomeinvoice.my/workspace/{your-workspace-name}/request-invoice

Short format:

https://v2.jomeinvoice.my/w/{your-workspace-name}/req

The short format exists for printed receipts. A QR code encodes every character of the link as dots, so a shorter link means fewer dots. On the small QR code a receipt printer produces, that is the difference between a code that scans first time and one your customer has to fight with. If you are printing onto receipts, use the short format.

{your-workspace-name} is the part already in your own request link. Copy it from Copy Profile Link in the Share Workspace panel and take the section after /workspace/.

Add the receipt details to the end of the link, starting with ? and joining each one with &.

  • branch_code - the code of the branch that made the sale
  • receipt_number - the receipt number you printed
  • amount - the receipt total
  • date - the receipt date, written as YYYY-MM-DD

A worked example

A sale at branch KL01, receipt 1-1049, RM 125.08, on 26 May 2026, for a workspace called acme-sdn-bhd.

In the standard format:

https://v2.jomeinvoice.my/workspace/acme-sdn-bhd/request-invoice?branch_code=KL01&receipt_number=1-1049&amount=125.08&date=2026-05-26

The same sale in the short format:

https://v2.jomeinvoice.my/w/acme-sdn-bhd/req?branch_code=KL01&receipt_number=1-1049&amount=125.08&date=2026-05-26

Either one opens the request form with the branch set to KL01 and the three receipt fields already filled in. Your customer checks them, adds their own name, TIN and address, and submits.

Making the QR code as small as possible

If your receipts are narrow and the QR code still scans poorly, you can shorten the four names as well. br works in place of branch_code, rcpt in place of receipt_number, amt in place of amount, and dt in place of date.

The same sale, at its shortest:

https://v2.jomeinvoice.my/w/acme-sdn-bhd/req?br=KL01&rcpt=1-1049&amt=125.08&dt=2026-05-26

Use the full names unless you actually have a scanning problem. They are far easier to recognise months later when something needs checking.

Where to find your branch code

Go to Settings → Workspace Settings → Organisation, find the branch, and click View. Branch Code sits at the top of the dialog that opens, next to Branch Name.

Branch Code is optional, so a branch may not have one yet. If yours are empty, either fill them in first or leave branch_code out of your links. A link with no branch code opens the form on your Main HQ, which is the right answer for a single-location business.

Four things that catch people out

Use the request link, not your profile link. Copy Profile Link gives you your public profile page, which is the page with the Request E-Invoice button on it. Receipt details added to that link are thrown away when the customer taps through to the form. Your link must end in /request-invoice or /req.

Write dates as YYYY-MM-DD, with the leading zeros. 2026-05-26 works. 2026-5-26 does not, and the date field will come up empty.

Replace any / in a receipt number with %2F. A forward slash means something else inside a web address. A receipt numbered A/2026/0148 goes into the link as A%2F2026%2F0148, and your customer still sees A/2026/0148 on screen.

Renaming the receipt labels does not rename these. If you have renamed Receipt No. to Bill No. in your settings, the link still uses receipt_number.

If a value does not come through

Nothing here can break the form. If a value is missing, misspelled or in the wrong format, JomeInvoice leaves that one field for the customer to fill in and the rest of the form works normally. The page never fails to load.

  • A branch code that does not match any of your branches falls back to your Main HQ, with no error shown.
  • An amount that is not a number, or is zero, leaves the amount box empty.
  • A date it cannot read leaves the date box at its normal default.

Your customer is not told that something was dropped, so test one real link end to end before you print thousands of receipts against it. Scan it with a phone, not just a click on your desktop.

Everything in the link is readable by anyone holding the receipt, and it stays in the browser history of whoever opens it. Only put the receipt number, amount, date and branch code in there. Never add a customer's name, TIN, phone number or address.
